Learn how to paint abstract art with Glenn Farquhar

In this interview Glenn describes how he started his art career painting art for his own home renovation, and how he expanded on this to eventually open his own art studio and art gallery. Glenn started his art classes and found that people wanted to learn how to paint art like his. Glenn had a lot of art ideas and art techniques which he used in his art lessons and thought he could have people painting art like his around the world. He decided to create his art DVD series to share his art classes with the people who could not come to his art studio. Now anyone who wants to paint art like Glenn's can learn to paint in the comfort of their own home, anywhere in the world.

Where did Glenn Learn to Paint Abstract Art?

This is where I began my career as an artist. I'm sure this is a familar site for many artists out there. Yes, this is the balcony of the inner city apartment where I began to paint. These photos certainly take me down memory lane, I had no idea where playing around making a mess would take me. You can see I covered the balcony with drop sheets, to avoid being evicted by my wife! Who would have thought I'd be creating art for Interior Designers across Australia and teaching art to people around the world. I designed my instructional Art DVD series for people who have limited space to work with in mind. Everyone has to start somewhere and space should not get in the way of your creativity. You can have as many art lessons and do as many art courses as you like, but  you need a place where you can practice your art techniques. People ask me, "What made you start to paint?". The story is simple, it all started when we needed a piece of artwork for our new apartment and my wife Kim started painting a piece on the balcony and I joined in....the rest is history. I found I had a flare for it and here I am today.

HANGING BY A THREAD" DVD Series 1

This artwork was commissioned by one of Glenn's Interior Designers for installation in a large home overlooking Sydney Harbour. You can see this displays the same process as shown on DVD series1.
